The programme focuses on management and business administration in the renewable energy sector. You will acquire technical and practical knowledge of green power technologies (e.g. solar energy, wind, water, geothermal power, and bioenergy) as well as general management topics such as finance, controlling, and marketing.

Projects and specialised courses will deepen your understanding of the extensive field of energy supply and its markets and regulations. In addition to acquiring academic knowledge, you will apply what you have learned in real business cases. During an internship, you will interact with representatives from the public sector and the renewable energy industry.

Students will participate in a three-year Bachelor's programme. Study projects are included to allow participants to gain practical skills. At the end of the second year, they will apply for an integrated internship.

Study abroad unit(s)

Students have the opportunity to spend one semester studying abroad in addition to completing an international internship. They may choose from a wide range of partner universities in Europe, USA, Central America, and Asia.

Internships

The three-year programme includes integrated practical projects (study project in the second year, company project and internship in a company in Germany or abroad in the third year) and a final thesis.

During the three-year programme, students will accumulate 180 ECTS points.

Course objectives

As a graduate of the programme "Business Administration with focus on Renewable Energy", you will be familiar with challenges and developments within the global energy market. In addition to the technical foundations of energy supply, you will have the economic knowledge to solve complex business problems and to manage projects and small teams independently.

The growing sector of environmental technologies and renewable energies offers various attractive job opportunities. Graduates work within the energy supply sector, in governmental or non-profit institutions, and in innovative companies dedicated to the development of sustainable energy solutions.

The internationally accredited FIBAA Bachelor's degree also qualifies graduates for further education at Master's level.

Language requirements

Applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency; e.g. TOEFL 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), 80 (internet-based) or equivalent. The TOEFL code is 6516.

Academic requirements

Applicants need to provide either a German "Abitur" (A-level), a "Fachabitur" or an equivalent international baccalaureate or high school diploma.
