The MSc International Project Management develops the skills needed to become an effective project manager. The programme focuses on project economics, construction management, risk and value management, and international project finance.

The professional project manager must deliver projects on schedule, on budget, to scope and with the right quality. The programme develops the multi-faceted skill set needed to manage international projects successfully. It is developed and delivered with the involvement of senior industry practitioners and is accredited by four prestigious international professional bodies.

International projects reach beyond national boundaries, in terms of project purpose or nationality of stakeholders.
Project management has emerged as a core ingredient of business success. Escalating global competition, price pressures and growing regulatory and legal risks are challenging organisations to perform at peak efficiency.

The value of a formal project management education builds a foundation for more effective and efficient practices and goes beyond merely learning a few project management tools and techniques in a short workshop. It creates both improved competence and confidence.

The programme provides a wealth of skills development in the areas of project management, development and project economics, construction management, risk and value management, and international project finance.

Trimester A Core modules: Construction Economics & Procurement; Construction Management; and Development & Project Economics.
Trimester B Core modules: International Construction Project Finance; Risk & Value Management; and Project Management.
Elective modules (one in trimester A and one in trimester B): Management of Safety, Health & Environmental Project Risks; Construction Contracts & Disputes; Construction Financial Management; and Strategic Management in Construction & Property.

EssentialAny of the following: * UK honours degree 2:2 (or equivalent) in any construction, surveying or engineering related subject. * Full membership of a chartered built environment professional institution (eg MRICS, MCIOB, ARIBA, MICE, MAPM) * An ordinary degree with a minimum of five years senior level built environment experience. * A non-cognate Honours degree 2:1 in engineering, science and social sciences with one year's experience in a people / logistics management role.English LanguageIELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with no element below 5.5. English Language Requirements IELTS band: 6 IMPORTANT NOTE: Since April 2014 the ETS tests (including TOEFL and TOEIC) are no longer accepted for Tier 4 visa applications to the United Kingdom. The university might still accept these tests to admit you to the university, but if you require a Tier 4 visa to enter the UK and begin your degree programme, these tests will not be sufficient to obtain your Visa. The MSc Construction Management programme began in 1994 and has been successfully delivered to many students who are now in senior positions working in Construction firms around the world. The MSc International Project Management programme began in 2005 to address the need for a project management professional in managing increasingly complex projects.

The School of Engineering and Built Environment produces more construction and surveying graduates than any other university in the UK.
