Life Sciences is a specialization within UOIT's Biological Science and Biological Science and Management programs. Individuals interested in studying this specialization will apply directly to Life Sciences through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) using application code DSU. This specialization consists of an integrated and focused concentration on biology and chemistry, with additional courses in Neuroscience and Human Anatomy. You will gain a detailed understanding of the structure and functioning of the human body, how the brain and nervous systems work, and what happens when the brain degenerates and becomes damaged or disorganized.By means of its broad science foundation and its human biology focus, this program provides an excellent basis for writing the Medical College Admission Test examinations and for satisfying course requirements for applying to medical school. Students who elect to study UOIT's Bachelor of Science and Management (Honours) in Biological Science take an additional year of study to develop business skills. The management program consists of the curriculum from the Biological Science, Life Sciences program and 10 courses in business and management. Graduates will benefit from a complete biological science education complemented by solid accounting, finance, operations, human resources and marketing skills.
