Description
The 21st century media and communications industry is extremely fast-paced, relying increasingly on new technology to bring news to homes, offices and mobile devices as soon as it happens.
The BA/BA (Hons) Media and Communication is designed to equip you with the fundamental tools of communication whether you intend to work in the media itself or in industries, such as advertising and public relations, that serve it.
You will be introduced to information and communication and media analysis, with plenty of opportunity to develop radio and TV production skills in a multimedia suite featuring sophisticated recording and editing equipment.
A recent development has been the introduction of the 'Future Talent' initiative, offering a number of high profile placements each year for which students must compete.
Graduates find employment in the media and communications industries nationally and internationally. For example, at the BBC, The Leith (Advertising) Agency, BIG Partnership and Beattie Media PR agencies, as well as in broader communications posts e.g. Press and Policy Officer or Events Coordinator.
