Real Estate and Housing

One of only two such programs in Canada, GuelphпПХs B.Comm. in Real Estate and Housing (R.E.H.) is designed to qualify graduates to meet the high demand for employees in the real estate industry. R.E.H. focuses on developing the analytical, conceptual, and management skills required for professional careers in the field of commercial or residential real estate. The R.E.H. major includes a core business curriculum, supplemented by specific real estate courses including appraisal, real estate finance, real estate law, property management, urban economics, real estate market analysis, planning, and development. Graduates receive exemption from some of the courses required to complete the Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) designation and some Ontario Real Estate Association courses.Sample careers include property management, real estate development and home building, housing policy analysis with government, property appraisal and assessment, real estate sales and leasing, mortgage lending, and research with real estate investment firms and commercial brokerages.
