This training course is an academically advanced 2-year post-qualifying level that builds on the prior knowledge and experiences that students bring to their own studies. USC's professionally accredited program develops critically reflective and analytical practitioners, equipping them with innovative understanding and skills to try social activity, counselling, community development, policy analysis and development, advocacy and research to assist people individually and together for shift. You'll complete two field education placements (1000 hours as a whole ), enabling integration of classroom learning with practical workplace experience in a enormous range of areas including: health and mental health, child protection, disability, substance abuse, and family violence, and homelessness, dealing with young individuals, families, seniors, refugees and Indigenous communities. Employment chances are really diverse in both community and government settings. The level also offers a pathway to develop into Medicare rebated, mentalhealth accredited practitioner throughout the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) for students that want to pursue a career in private practice.

The Master of Social Work (Qualifying) is fully accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

Applicants must have a relevant 3-year Bachelor level (AQF Level 7) which comprises the equivalent of at least twelve months old full-time studies in social sciences (studies of the person and society). This is the minimum entry requirement as put from the ASWEAS tips (2012). When an applicant's prior amount have not expressly addressed social work, sociology and psychology, they could be required to undertake additional empirical study. Applicants can also be required to attend a meeting. English language requirements apply.
