The Masters programme in Sustainable Energy Technology (SET) enables you to become an engineer with in-depth knowledge on renewable energy technologies.
The world is becoming acutely aware of the urgent need to resolve the many issues associated with energy consumption and climate change. Limited availability of fossil fuels and the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions call for fundamental innovations in the global energy landscape. Sustainable energy and renewable energy technologies, such as bio-energy, solar energy, wind energy and hydrogen, play a key role in tackling these issues, especially given peoples determination to maintain or improve their living standards. This requires experts who combine specialist knowledge with broader social awareness to deliver high-tech solutions with a human touch. The masters programme in Sustainable Energy Technology is interlinked with leading research in developing, optimizing and integrating renewable energy sources such as solar, windwater, biomass and innovative energy technology such as fuel cells and smart grids. New technologies have to be integrated into existing socio-technological networks. Tomorrows engineers and researchers will explore new forms of energy distribution, new energy market structures and smarter ways to satisfy the demands of our complex society.
