International Enterprise Information Management (IEIM) is an international degree programme run by the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU). It includes a mandatory semester abroad either at Oulu University of Applied Sciences in Finland or Kingston University in England.

The Master's degree programme educates future experts and executives in the field of IT and information management. Students learn to manage the resource "information" in an enterprise context based on an optimised approach and understand how the respective required information systems (IS) are planned, built, run, and operationally managed.

Study abroad unit(s)

Participants spend the second semester of the programme either at Kingston University in London (United Kingdom) or at Oulu University of Applied Sciences in Oulu (Finland).

Internships

The international case study (third semester) ought to be done in cooperation with a company.

Course objectives

Graduates will be able and qualified to work in the strategic or operational planning and control of IT in international enterprises and organisations. Typical working areas will range from IT project management to controlling to IT-related management functions.

In addition, graduates may pursue a career in the IT services industry, i.e., in consulting, technical sales, project or quality management, product or service management, or software/enterprise architecture.

Applicants must provide proof of their German and English skills at enrolment.
German B1: TestDaF 3 or equivalent
English B2: TOEFL 90 (Internet-based), IELTS 6.5 or equivalent

Academic requirements

  • Successfully completed Bachelor's degree (equivalent to 210 ECTS credits)
  • Minimum average grade of Bachelor's degree: good (equivalent to 2.3 or better on German scale)
  • Provable IT management and computer science skills obtained during undergraduate studies equivalent to at least 30 ECTS credits

71.50 EUR per semester

Costs of living

Approx. 700 EUR per month to cover personal expenses
Non-EU citizens need an additional 80 EUR per month for health insurance.

Funding opportunities within the university

All international students who have acquired their qualifications for university studies abroad and who are pursuing a degree at the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) can apply for the International University Scholarship at the International Office at the beginning of the semester. The Federal State of Bavaria funds a scholarship that is awarded for one semester.

Arrival support

The International Office offers assistance in finding accommodation or German host families, opening a bank account, getting health insurance, etc.

The orientation weeks take place over the course of several weeks before the beginning of each semester.

International students at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) can turn to their peer mentors for help and get to know their surroundings on the campus tour, the city tour, or on excursions.

The International Office helps setting up language tandems and offers daily consultation hours.
