Program Summary

Global Prosperity degree is a dynamic, novel transdisciplinary degree that links students with communities of practice in order to generate new pathways to social and natural prosperity.

Global Prosperity prepares you to become one of a new generation of global leaders. Through your study, you will examine possible solutions to contemporary global challenges and explore how much-needed economic, social, and political transformations can be enacted to deliver sustainable prosperity.

The degree explores major global challenges and offers critical historical analyses of their origins in trends such as the drive for economic growth, unsustainable consumerism, and sustainable development. Study models and theories of social, economic, and technological change, and develop case studies of ongoing radical prosperity transformations driven by actors from across the globe and from a range of positions including entrepreneurs, policymakers, business, and civil society. You will also explore a variety of collective problem-solving methods such as human-centered design.

Students are in an excellent position to develop innovative research careers within academia, take on important roles in key industries or sectors (e.g. policy, technology, law, environment), or launch their own entrepreneurial and/or civil society initiatives. Students with this degree tend to be highly employable due to the unique mix of abilities they cultivate during their studies, from in-depth research skills to communication and leadership abilities.

After graduation, students are expected to go on to define new routes to prosperity through working in policy-making, management, shared value, entrepreneurship, activism, education, and research.
