The mission of the Yale SOM is to educate leaders for business and society. And Yale SOM is a place where the mission matters, where students, alumni, faculty, and staff embrace its meaning and implications. It provides both long-term strategic guidance about what the school is and should be and informs decisions and actions on a daily basis.

During a year-long program, MAM students take tailored courses examining major trends in global business and pursue an independent course of study, leveraging electives at Yale SOM and elsewhere at Yale.

MAM STUDENTS TAKE THE EQUIVALENT OF FIVE COURSES EACH SEMESTER. Four are electives chosen from throughout Yale and one is made up of the combined MAM core classes. Core classes provide deep insights into global business trends and challenges. Elective choices allow you to personalize your study and advance your professional interests. See our Tracks of Study for groupings of electives you may want to pursue based on your interests.

MAM Core:

  • Colloquium in Advanced Management. A series of small-setting, off-the-record conversations between MAM students and leading senior executives from across industries.
  • Advanced Leadership Development Program. A carefully designed leadership program stressing self-awareness, goal-setting, cross-cultural competencies, and people development via coaching and mentoring.
  • Global Challenges Seminar. A seminar series featuring leading thinkers from throughout Yale University on some of the most pressing global challenges and resulting business implications.
  • Advanced Management Practicum. A challenging hands-on real-life project in which students can bring their accumulated knowledge to bear and gain additional practical experience.
  • Global Challenges Seminar. Watch a series of videos from last year's seminar, in which faculty from all parts of Yale give you an illuminating look at some of the major issues facing business leaders today.

Yale SOM may admit exceptional students from the Global Network for Advanced Management member schools who have not yet completed their MBA or equivalent degree provided:

  1. The student has satisfactorily completed the required MBA (or equivalent) core curriculum;
  2. The Global Network school where the student is enrolled in the MBA (or equivalent) program will count credits earned at Yale as part of the MAM program toward the MBA (or equivalent) degree; or;
  3. The student will have completed the MBA (or equivalent) program and obtained the respective degree prior to completing the MAM degree at Yale.

Academic Record

When you apply, you are required to provide a transcript and a corresponding degree certification from every college or university you have ever attended. You do not need to submit the official, paper transcripts or corresponding degree certifications to apply. If admitted, however, you will need to submit the official transcript from your Global Network School MBA or equivalent program. The degree certificate must indicate the type of degree conferred, the institution/location from which you received the degree and the date of degree confirmation.

Please note: If your transcript indicates this information, there is no need to provide us with an additional degree certificate. All offers of admission are conditional on the receipt and verification of official transcripts.

Non-English Transcripts: should be translated into English. If your institution does not provide an English translation with the transcript, please obtain a notarized English translation.

GMAT/GRE

All applicants to the Yale School of Management should take either the GMAT or the GRE.  There is no minimum score to apply. Have your official score report sent directly to the Yale School of Management Master of Advanced Management program. You can request GMAT score reports through www.mba.com (use code 3TJ-BX-39). You can request GRE scores through www.ets.org (code 0818).  If an applicant has not taken the GMAT or the GRE, the standardized test score used to gain admission to their Global Network School can be submitted in place of the GMAT or GRE.

Recommendations

You are required to submit one recommendation letter.  In addition you are required to have the Dean or Director of your MBA program submit a confirmation letter that you are in good standing at your business school to advanced.management@yale.edu.

All admitted MAM candidates are automatically considered for a scholarship. Furthermore, MAM students may, in some cases, be sponsored by an employer.

Visa Information
All MAM students who are not US citizens or green card holders are required to have a visa to legally study in the United States by the start of the program. If you are admitted to the program, we will provide you with a document that will help you initiate the visa process. Since this process can be lengthy, early applications are encouraged.
