This dual level will provide you an insight into human and animal biology as you research ways to enhance health and treat disease. Bio Medical science in RMIT lets you understand how the body operates and the answers of their body to several diseases, diet, exercise, internal disturbances and ecological influences. You'll complete studies in cell biology, physiology, microbiology and molecular biology including proteomics and can also opt to study anatomy, neuroscience, cardiovascular sciences, industrial microbiology and applied biochemistry. You will discover how processes in molecular biology and genetics are applied to issues including implanting genes which cause cancer, making livestock and plants less vulnerable to disease, hence making food safer. You will graduate with majors in microbiology, molecular and cell biology and a optional major of biochemistry, and possess the credentials to function in biotechnology and biomedical research.
This degree qualifies graduates for professional membership of scientific societies like the Australian Society for Microbiology and the Australian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
