The BA major in Biotechnology is tightly integrated with the needs of numerous life science businesses. The BA curriculum is designed for students who will receive rigorous training to pursue aspects of biotechnology such as pharmaceutical sales, marketing, technical writing or data specialists. Completing a major in Biotechnology would be advantageous to those who are planning to undertake non-research oriented business or sales opportunities in the life sciences. Students can combine a major in Biotechnology with degrees in Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry.

One mathematics course chosen from MATH-M 118, M119, M211, M212, or M213 (3-4 cr.)

Requirements

Your cumulative GPA, as well as the grades you have earned in the 34 courses required for admission, will be an important part of the application review process. Our students have the equivalent of a B average or higher in secondary school.
IU requires either SAT or ACT scores. Preference will be given to international students who score above the U.S. national average. The middle 50 percent range of SAT scores for admitted freshmen is typically 1180–1360, and the middle 50 percent range of ACT scores is typically 25–31.
