Description

The USF’s Bachelor of General Studies Degree (BGS) is a customized, interdisciplinary degree that allows a student to choose an academic program that fits his or her educational and professional goals. The BGS program empowers students to complete their bachelor’s degree while maintaining a busy lifestyle. Each BGS student will take an active role in creating his or her academic program. Rather than choosing a traditional major, students can choose from a variety of concentrations. Students with a Da Zhuan diploma looking for a U.S. Bachelor’s degree program will find the BGS degree recognizes the value of academic work already completed in the Da Zhuan program and typically requires only 60 additional credit hours at USF.

After successfully completing the Da Zhuan Undergraduate Pathway program, students are guaranteed to enter a second year of study. This transition to university from an INTO program is called progression. Students must meet the following University of South Florida Pathway Progression criteria in order to progress:

  • Minimum 2.5 GPA in Pathway
  • Grade of “C” or better in all classes
  • No Incomplete of Withdraw grades
  • Student is fully admitted to USF provided successful completion of provisional admission criteria at the end of the Pathway

- The list of institutions that are acceptable will be limited to Regular Colleges & Universities and Junior Colleges per the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China website. - Limited to certain 3-year DaZhuan degrees, such as or similar to:
  • Business/Administration/
  • Management-related
  • Communications/Media-related
  • Health-related
  • Technology/Computer-related
  • Science/Environment-related
  • Arts-related
- Limited to high-ability graduates with 80% average marks in three-year DaZhuan degree.
