The Master's degree programme (Master of Science) at PFH enables graduates to gain the skills and academic depth required to be successful and responsible managers in an increasingly globalised world. The programme offers the possibility to specialise in specific areas of management. It supports personal development through individual coaching sessions, soft skills training, and an intercultural learning environment.

Due to the proximity to industry, the programme is also shaped by trustees like TUI, Continental, SAP, and Telekom Systems. These trustees help shape new ideas and transfer know-how to provide students with opportunities for applied practices.

The programme is organised in three semesters. The syllabus of the Master's degree offers a wide range of opportunities for individual specialisation in accordance with career goals.

Both modules (8 and 9) can be replaced by a 16-week internship.

Semester abroad opportunities are available through our partner universities and can be financially supported either by the European Union (Erasmus+ programme) or by the DAAD (Promos programme).
Spending a semester abroad is possible at any time. Some of the partner universities offer the option of a dual degree.

Internships

Internships are to be completed during the lecture-free periods between each semester. These internships are part of the curriculum.

Course objectives

The dual award Master of Science in General Management qualifies graduates for challenging activities in business and academia. It equips graduates to carry out leadership functions in companies and organisations. Management graduates are employed throughout the world in a wide variety of industries, such as marketing managers in Asia, controllers in DAX companies, advisers in auditing firms, international representatives for automotive groups, and brand specialists in the food industry.

Language requirements

Applicants must provide proof of their English skills: TOEFL iBT 86, IELTS 6.5, ESOL CAE or BEC higher.

Academic requirements

The entry requirement is a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification with a business science focus. For applicants who gained fewer than 210 credits in their first studies (for instance, in the case of a Bachelor's degree with 180 ECTS), an additional semester may be required. The four-semester pathway offers students the possibility to earn 30 ECTS through additional subjects either at PFH or one of the global partners.

Costs of living

You should budget approx. 770 EUR per month for rent, personal expenses, health insurance, public transportation, and living costs.

Job opportunities

Göttingen offers a lot of jobs for students in the service sector. In addition, students can apply as student trainees at one of the local businesses. These businesses include Novelis, Satorius, or Ottobock. Student part-time jobs vary from waiters to marketing or sales student trainees.
PFH also offers the opportunity to earn additional income by supervising the library.

Arrival support

Programme advisers will assist international students with organisational matters before the study programme begins. An orientation programme of social and academic activities will be organised to introduce international students to life and study at PFH.
The orientation week includes social events, sporting events, study and support sessions as well as events to help students become familiar with the campus, meet people, and get prepared to begin their studies.

Services and support for international students

Apart from programme advisers, who will assist international students in all concerns regarding administrative matters, student buddies will be the main contact point when it comes to student life matters. At a help desk, international students can get advice and support from student buddies.

Accommodation

Students can apply for accommodation at the Göttingen student union.

The administration of the dorms is decentralised. Students can apply for several dorms.
Students may apply for an flat or a room (furnished or unfurnished). The rental fee for a single room in a dormitory is approximately 220 EUR per month.
