CSUs Master of GIS and Remote Sensing allows graduates to build their knowledge and practical expertise in spatial science and remote sensing technology from an introductory level through to a high level of expertise with independent study and project experience at the Master level.

Graduates of this course will have advanced knowledge and skills in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS). As a graduate, you will be able to apply your knowledge and skills in spatial science to collect, map, analyse and present information about the physical and built environment. You will be able to use your creativity, initiative and independent judgement to use specialised techniques to address a wide variety of spatial problems.

You may also choose to exit the course early, with the Graduate Certificate in GIS and Remote Sensing after successfully completing 32 points (four subjects) or the Graduate Diploma of GIS and Remote Sensing after successfully completing 64 points (eight subjects). The exit points offer considerable flexibility, allowing students to gain the GIS and Remote Sensing knowledge and qualification they need today, and to add to their credentials at a later date if necessary.

Applicants to the Master of GIS and Remote Sensing would normally hold a three-year Bachelor degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline or have extensive relevant industry experience to the satisfaction of the Course Director.
