Description

The program equips students with knowledge and skills required for employment or graduate research in politics, government, public administration, public policy, law, public speaking, and writing. This option is best suited to students who propose to get directly involved in the political process, government or political organization. For those not interested in pursuing law school, the course prepares graduates for employment in public or political organizations or for work in legal fields in a non-laweyering capacity. The course helps graduates better understand their role as global citizens who will live and be employed in an increasingly international, multi-cultural environment.

During studies at MGIMO training will include courses on Russian language (8 academic hours weekly); the School provides an extensive teaching of "Russia knowledge": specificities of doing business in Russia, psychology of ethnic relations in Russia, Russian political culture, key political processes and conflicts. For students who have a strong command of Russian language intensive courses of advanced English are provided. Besides, students study one of European languages during the program.

As part of their studies, students complete a set of core courses grounded in: Political Science, Governance and Management, Government Decision-Making and Implementation, Administrative Law, Civil Law, Strategic Thinking and Forecasting in Political Processes, Economics (Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Global Economy), World History and Russian History, Psychology and Conflict Management.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
The B.A. course will prepare applicants for a successful career in public service, whether in government, non-governmental organizations or in the private sector.
The School has dedicated careers advisors to support our students during their study, organizes careers events to bring relevant employers and students together, and maintains a network of support among alumni and current students of the University.
Students will also have access to MGIMO's careers service offering advice and training not only in furthering your career after graduating from the School, but also with placing its students in internships during the 8th semester. The School's Careers Centre will allow relevant organizations directly to target students for recruitment.
MGIMO graduates are sought by employers internationally and the career prospects for a successful B.A. student at MGIMO are excellent. Among them:

Your application should be supported with the following documents:

• Secondary school diploma and/or leaving examination certificate(s), if you already have received it. If not, you will need to send it to us as soon as you receive it from your school.
  ATTENTION: once admitted, you will have to present the originals of these documents during the academic registration and undergo the procedures of (1) notarial certification of translation of the documents into Russian language and (2) nostrification, or approval of your documents by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. MGIMO-University will provide all the necessary assistance to pass these procedures smoothly. Please note that the nostrification procedure is not necessary for citizens of countries which have signed treaties on recognition and equivalence of diplomas with the Russian Federation, though additional conditions may be in force based on a particular treaty.

The program is maintained by the University, students pay tuition fees. Several company-sponsored courses are planned to be added to the curriculum as elective courses.
