This system combines studies in urban planning and the built environment with the social, economic and political environment and objectives to create efficient, interesting, practical, healthy and sustainable places for people to exist. Students will build specialised understanding and skills in critical research and draw from diverse sources to participate in professionally relevant projectsand conduct research and promote effective policy outcomes. Students will have the opportunity to specialise in urban planning and environmental policy and direction. Graduates work as professional urban planners, environmental managers and policy makers in areas like resource management, strategic, statutory and social planning within the personal industry and local and state administration.
Students that complete licensed planning courses will qualify for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA). Successful finishing of lessons with an Environmental attention in this program is a recognized method of entry to the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ).
Successfully completed an Australian Bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) having a minimum GPA 2.5 (out of 4.0), or Substantial work experience or professional training.
