This programme offers advanced education on Information and Communication Technologies and on electronic engineering technologies connected to the industrial world. Seeking to provide specialised knowledge for the design of integrated circuits, electronic and photonic devices, energy conversion, communication systems and services, etc., the programmes professional interest lies in its adequacy to the current job market and the need for technology designers, developers and managers of electronic systems. The masters is taught at the School of Engineering (ETSE) of Valencia University, which is located next to the Institutes of the Science Park and the Company Incubator of the Burjasot-Paterna Campus and near Valencias Technology Park, these three areas accounting for the greatest demand for highly qualified electronic engineering professionals in the Region of Valencia. In addition to its professional side, the programme has a focus on research, for those students willing to further their education with the Electronic Engineering PhD offered by the University of Valencia.

INTRODUCTION

The Masters degree is divided in various modules that are structured, at the same time in different courses. The modules will provide 60 credits and are composed of:

* Specialized modules: 44 credits.
* Industry practicum: 6 credits.
* Final Master Project: 10 credits.

For full time students the Masters degree will be developed in an academic year. The final Masters Project will be done in some associated industry or research center. For half time students the modules will be presented in parallel and not in a sequential way. Additionally, the Masters degree has two modules of research training (30 credits). Boths are optionals and not needded to obtain the Masters degree. Its purpose is to offer different training and educational activities to the postgraduated students that would like to work towards the Ph. D. Degree.There is the possibility to learn additional complementary courses (up to 30 credits) if the student has not enough bakground related to electronics engineering. The number of complimentary modules to learn will be decided by the Academics Masters Board.

ACADEMIC STRUCTURE: The Masters degree programme is divided in three semesters formed by 30 credits each one. The complimentary semester (needded by the students with less electronic background) and two specific semesters corresponding to the Master courses. They are divided in specialized courses, the industry practicum and the Master final project.

Four modules constitute the Master degree structure:

1. SPECIALIZED MODULES (44 credits): Divided in the following three categories.

* Digital signal processing module (15 credits).
* Digital and communication systems module (14 credits).
* Electronics industry module (15 credits).

In all of the above modules the main purpose is to offer an advanced and specific knowledge related to electronic components and their advanced design and application techniques. Additionally, and considering a subsystem level, different topics will be presented with the aim to provide a solid background in the recent advances in electronics technologies, specially:

* Digital systems to process information.
* Digital signal processing.
* Data analysis.
* Electronic devices.
* High frequency electronic systems.
* Power electronic systems.
* Acquisition and conditionning electronic systems.
* CMOS microelectronic design.
* Electromagnetic compliance.
* Systems and electronic equipments design.
* Communication networks.
* Advanced control.

2. PROJECT MODULE (10 credits): This module is focused to know and acquired skills focused in industrial management. Knowledge related to the industry field like production organization, quality management or direction of research and development activities will be shown in it. The educational works in this module are divided in theoretical ones (3 credits) and the Final Master Project (7 credits).

3. PRACTICUM MODULE (6 credits): The Master degree has a professional orientation and then the Practicum will be mandatory. It will be done in some Master associated industry or research center.

4. RESEARCH TRAINING MODULE (30 credits): Its purpose is to offer different training and educational activities to the postgraduated students that would like to work towards the Ph. D. Degree. The student will attend different specialized seminars focused on his personal interests that will conduct to a Ph. D. dissertation.

Capabilities provided by the Master degree The graduate students enrolled in the master will acquired specific capabilities in the domains of:

* - The design of products, processes and installations related to the field of electronics engineering.
* - The management and direction of multidisciplinary teams.
* - The mathematical modelling, calculus and simulation of electronic systems in their different domains.
* - The research, development and innovative projects management in industries and research centers related to the electronics engineering field.
* - The knowledge in advanced digital signal processing (DSP) techniques.
* - The conception, design and implementation of DSP based electronic systems.
* - The design, documentation and start-up of instrumentation and control systems and equipments.
* - The knowledge in advanced digital signal modulation techniques and communication electronic systems.

* - The level of language needed to attend the Master is intermediate (Spanish and English). * - A graduated level in electronics (telecommunication, industrial, applied physics,...) is recommended to attend the Master. * - Key documents the students have to send in for their application: Curriculum vitae.
