This program provides graduates with the skills, knowledge and qualifications to pursue a livelihood as ambulance paramedics with agencies such as the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and has been the very first such course to be offered in Queensland. The course consists of supervised clinical practice together with QAS and in other clinical settings. The first year of the course is targeted on base studies in the physiology and anatomy of the body, and an introduction to pathology, pathophysiology, pharmacology and clinical practice. Students will complete their original placement at the end of year. Throughout second and third years, students will keep on theoretical studies however with an increasing emphasis on clinical knowledge and transition into professional practice.
