First of all, this planet need great specialists in Ecology. By understanding relations between different parts of ecosystems and especially a role of human beings in this system people learn how to interact with the environment and use its resources correctly and find out how these interactions work.

Even if you do not see yourself as a scientist in Ecology, an undergraduate degree in this area is a great start for everyone who wish to continue their education in geology, plant science, forestry, mycology, conservation biology, animal biology, soil science, or specific environmental science, such as environmental economics, environmental impacts and public health, sustainable management. Undergraduate degree in Ecology always includes basic courses in Earth and Natural Sciences, which will be a great knowledge background for everyone who wish to connect their lives with any of these disciplines.

Finally, studying Ecology is interesting. Besides core lectures and seminars, students will undertake a lot of practical lessons and fieldwork, so a degree in Ecology is a great choice for those who want something besides sitting in the classrooms.
