Architects are creators of space around us. Architecture is not only about designing buildings - it includes city planning, designing of parks and alleys, in short, the creation of a comfortable and beautiful urban space.

Entry requirements for Architecture applicants

Since admission for Architecture undergraduate study programs in usually highly competitive, applicants need to demonstrate excellent grades in Mathematics and sometimes Physics. The overall GRA scores also need to be very high.

Besides excellent grades, some universities also require students to provide a work portfolio, which includes the best drawing and sketches demonstrating the applicant’s current level.

Some universities (for example, Kingston University) even welcomes applicants only older than 21 year, who have developed needed technical skills during their life.

Most of study programs in Architecture which can be found on our website are taught in English, so language fluency is always required. All universities accept the results of TOEFL, IELTS or other equivalent language tests if the applicant’s native language is other from English.

Applicants wishing to study abroad need also to meet special visa requirements of the chosen country.

Program structure

A name of an undergraduate degree in Architecture varies from institution to institution; thus, in some university you will receive a Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) degree after completing your courses, some institutions provide Bachelor of Science study programs in Architecture. Actually, a name of a degree doesn’t affect the curriculum content.

Curriculum of Architecture study programs usually combine both theoretical and practical lessons. Theoretical part of education includes courses in history of architecture, theory of architecture and town planning. Practical part usually include using specific design computer programs and creating models of buildings. During the education process, students collect their work portfolio, which will be useful after the graduation.

Some study programs in Architecture include internships (or even a part-time work placement) in architecture firms.
