The PhD Programme offered at the Faculty of Journalism and Political Sciences, University of Warsaw is addressed to English-speaking students – graduates of the second-cycle studies (uniform master-level studies or equivalent). It is intended for active and creative people who wish to develop their research interests and broaden academic knowledge by conducting scientific research.

Required documents:
a) application for admission (download);
b) Master’s degree diploma and programme of studies (original and English versions);
c) Bachelor’s degree diploma and programme of studies (in order to establish equivalence to – or validate as – a Master’s degree thus making the applicant eligible for admission to the studies);
d) description of the applicant’s research interests (optionally: a preliminary outline of the doctoral thesis);
e) information on the applicant’s scientific activity (participation in conferences, scientific clubs and associations, publications; optionally: a scientific opinion);
f) CV/résumé;
g) personal questionnaire (download);
h) 2 photographs (3.5 cm/4.5 cm);
i) information on foreign language skills, especially English language skills (certificates, diplomas, certification documents; optionally: the applicant’s declaration of the attained level of language skills in the given foreign language)
An additonal a fee of 200 Euro is required as part of the first year tution fee.
Foreigners can study at BA, MA / MSc / LLM, MBA, PhD level on various financial terms:
- as the Republic of Poland or foreign governments grant holders (check also: Ministry of Science and Higher Education)
- as the University of Warsaw grant holders (e.g. as exchange students on the basis of bilateral agreements)
- as students of Erasmus partner institutions/ Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window institutions (with a scholarship)
