Our ACQUIN-accredited Master's programmes are tailored for graduates wishing to obtain a strong specialisation in International Marketing.

The style of lectures tends to be participative, and classes frequently incorporate case analyses and discussions. There will also be group work sessions and opportunities for supervised project work, field investigations and visits, as well as individual research. Small classes allow for close personal contacts.

The Master of Arts in International Marketing consists of the following six modules:

  • International Marketing Tools
  • Industrial Product and Market Development
  • General Studies and Thesis
  • Electives
Students can stress their fields of interest by choosing courses from a broad range of electives in all fields.

The Master's programme is based on group work and the presentation of projects.

If students have no international study or work experience, it is possible that they spend one semester abroad. Depending on the progress of their studies, this might mean an additional semester.

Forms of assessment

Exams will take place at the end of each semester (ECTS points and German grading system); all courses conclude with a written exam (written exam or paper). In addition, in many classes presentations count towards the final grade which will be held during the semester.

Course objectives

Our Master's graduates will have a thorough understanding of the principles and practices of international marketing and economics. They will be aware of new concepts, will be endowed with knowledge and skills and will be familiar with the analytical tools and perspectives that provide a sound basis for decision making. They will have well-developed leadership skills that incorporate creative teamwork.

Our students gain both academic knowledge and soft skills that make them successful in the business world. Besides that, our students can benefit immensely from our university's extensive company network, which includes world-renowned companies such as Adidas, Siemens, Staedtler, Deutsche Bank, Audi and BMW, in order to find their future career host.

Language requirements

English with a minimum test result of:
  • TOEFL 237 (computer-based)
  • TOEFL 92 (internet-based)
  • IELTS 7.0
  • TOEIC 705

German
  • Basic knowledge of German: successful completion of A1 level as taught at the Goethe Institute (equivalent to approx. 120 hours of lectures attended)

Academic requirements

  • An above-average Bachelor's degree in business/economics (please see our web page http://www.th-nuernberg.de/ib/ for the grade average currently required) and equivalent results in a management admission test (e.g. GMAT/GRE or our own Master Admission Test (only for students residing within Germany)
  • CV in English
  • English language certificate
  • German language certificate
  • Practical experience of at least five months or 20 weeks of internship as part of prior studies (Marketing related)

Optional:
  • Two written references (job references or letters of reference)
  • Letter of Motivation

Enrolment fees

There are no tuition fees for the Master in International Marketing programme - for German and international students. Only an administration fee of 107 EUR per semester - which includes the base rate for using the public transportation system of Nuremberg - is required.

Costs of living

Around 800-1,000 EUR per month (including accommodation, heating, electricity, phone, food, transportation, etc.)

Job opportunities

There will be opportunities to work as an assistant in administrative support. Outside jobs are also available as student employees. It is not recommended that students work during the semester because of the heavy workload.

Accommodation

Students can apply for accommodation in student halls of residence, which are close to the university and well-equipped. Prices for a private apartment are around 200-300 EUR per month.
