The system of higher education in Norway includes a wide range of universities, colleges and private schools, which are controlled by the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research. According to Bologna process, country`s national higher education system is divided into bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs.

Those who want to choose bachelor programs in Norway have to meet several basic requirements: prospective students heve to complete secondary education at advanced level and successfully pass the final exams. Students from some country have to finish at least one year of university program before applying for bachelor's programs in Norway. Bachelor programs in Norway take 3 years and available in Norwegian and in English language.

There are many master programs in Norway which are available in English and open for internation applicants with Bachelor's degree. Prospective students have to provide their university transcripts as well as letters of recommendation and motivation letter. International students may apply for several scholarships which are provided by the state of by universities themselves. More scholarships are available for doctoral and postdoctoral students.

Norwegian high schools offer study programs in various fields, including technical and humanitarian specializations. But Norway is especially famous for its bachelor and master degrees in Engineering &Technology, Natural Sciences, Humanities &Art.
