Natural Sciences

natural sciences

If your main passion in life is to understand how the world around you works, then maybe a degree in Natural Sciences is the best choice for you. A wide array of scientific disciplines, such as Physics, Chemistry or Geology with hundreds of narrower areas of focus will give you a chance to understand the universe from different perspectives. Natural sciences is also a key to resolve may of the world’s most serious problems, such as climate change or hunger.

Undergraduate programs often allow students not to choose the area of specialization during the first years: it is typically possible to choose among wide array of electives in different areas of study, including Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry etc. Sometimes it’s also possible to focus on Biology, while in other countries and universities Life Sciences and Biology programs are not related with Natural Sciences departments. In some countries, such as the US, Bachelor’s degrees usually provide a significant choice for students in determining their own academic path, while in other countries undergraduate programs have more compulsory classes in order to give students basic knowledge about the most important areas of science.

PhD program is the very popular path for Natural Sciences majors: it is often the only way to get advanced knowledge and skills, to focus on a specific research problem and to start your career in academia. However, academic career is not the only option for graduates: research departments of world’s leading corporations are constantly hiring recent graduates.
