Triple Accredited and Quality Assured
Maintaining the excellent quality of our services is very important to us. We are therefore proud to be among the 1% (57) of business schools worldwide with Triple Crown accreditation, meaning we are accredited by all three international, independent accreditation committees, as well as regional and independent accreditation bodies.
Being triple accredited is an exclusive quality indicator and highlights our international reputation. RSM is one of the few schools meeting the specific requirements of the three accreditation bodies and amongst a very select group of institutions such as Copenhagen Business School, HEC Paris, INSEAD, London Business School, EAESP - Fundação Getúlio Vargas, ESADE and SDA Bocconi School of Management.
RSM is accredited by:
AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) is a US based in 1916 established accreditation organisation. AACSB evaluates a business schools mission, faculty qualifications and contributions, programmes, and other critical areas on a five year review cycle. Particular important for AACSB are the assurance of learning standards. Student learning being the central activity of higher education, schools should have learning goals in place that encourage continuous improvement in educational programmes. RSM was among the first European business schools to receive AACSB accreditation in 1998.
The Association of MBAs (AMBA) is a London-based in 1967 established international organisation that accredits postgraduate business programs at business schools worldwide. The Association is one of the three main global accreditation bodies in business education. It differs from AACSB and EQUIS as it accredits a school's portfolio of postgraduate business programs rather than the entire business school. RSM is AMBA accredited since 1996.
EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) was created in 1998 as part of the European Foundation for Management Development EFMD, a Brussels-based organisation that seeks to improve education and research in the field of business and management.
The EQUIS accreditation is awarded to business schools based on general quality. The process also takes into account the business school's level of internationalisation, which is not a strict requirement for accreditation by the other two major international accreditation bodies.
RSM is proud to be one of 138 EQUIS-accredited business schools worldwide. At its start in 1998 EQUIS accredited the school for a full period of five years. Actually, the school itself was one of the 19 pioneer schools launching EQUIS and its subsequent accreditation procedures. Following the initial accreditation of 1998, the School was awarded re-accreditation in 2003 and 2009.
The Netherlands Academy of Arts and Science (KNAW) promotes the quality of scientific and scholarly work and strives to ensure that Dutch scholars and scientists make the best possible contribution to the cultural, social, and economic development of Dutch society. As a research organisation, the Academy is responsible for a group of outstanding national research institutes. It promotes innovation and knowledge valorisation within these institutes and encourages them to cooperate with one another and with university research groups. RSMs research institute ERIM has been accredited by the KNAW since 1999.
The Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organisation (NVAO) is the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders. Its role is to evaluate the study programmes of educational institutes and grants quality marks and aids for the advancement of overall quality. The NVAO can award distinctive features as recognition of a special characteristic of an educational programme. The organisation was established by international treaty and it ensures the quality of higher education in the Netherlands and Flanders. RSM is NVAO accredited since 2007.
In 2010, NVAO awarded the Distinctive (Quality) Feature for Internationalisation' to RSMs International Bachelor programme. RSMs IBA programme gained the NVAO-Certificate for Quality Distinction on Internationalisation. The jurys report indicates that RSMs IBA programme benefits from the Schools worldwide network and its high academic standards for international business studies. RSMs multicultural setting was particularly noted for resulting in an excellent IBA-feeling shared equally by students and staff.
In 2012, NVAO awarded the Distinctive (Quality) Feature for small scale and intensive education to RSMs MSc International Management/CEMS programme. This particular feature indicates that the teaching in our MSc International Management / CEMS is considerably more intensive than in standard programmes. Education is intertwined with extra-curricular activities so that an academic and professional community is created and the social context is inseparable from the curriculum. In addition there is a stringent admission procedure aimed at realising the optimal match between student and programme.
